CB-FET - Unregulated MOSFET Box Mod
DIY Box mods are something i've always been intrested in, and with the CB-FET, i've finally taken the dive down the DIY rabbit hole.
The CB-FET is a Unregulated MOSFET Box Mod, it uses the ModMaker Clickfet V1 N-Channel MOSFET board. The Clickfet has some nice safteynets built in, Low Voltage protection (<3.1 ± 0.1V Mod will not fire), Reverse Polarity Protection (Mod Autofires, but board will not burn out.), Low Resistance Protection (<0.08 ± 0.01Ω Mod will not fire) which also doubles as short protection, Timeout protection (if mod is fired for 10 ± 1s the board will stop powering the mosfet) You can even turn the mod On/Off with the usual 5-clicks of the fire button.
Though it does have a couple drawbacks, it is limited to 4.2v Battery Configurations, meaning Single Battery, or Parallel 2+ Batteries, and the Reverse Polarity Protection, as mentioned, only protects the board, the mod will still autofire, i believe this is down to it being an N-Channel Mosfet, as opposed to a P-Channel Mosfet, the N-Channel would get powered if the battery is put in reverse, closing the gate and allowing power to flow, but a P-Channel Mosfet would not.

Building the CB-FET
Prerequisites
To Build the CB-Fet, you will need:
- A ModMaker Clickfet V1 (Switchless)
- A 22mm 510 Connector, the CB-FET was built around the Stealthvape Source V3 vFLAT, but you can use another if you prefer.
- A 12mm Switch, either no LED or LED.
- Keystone PN 1107-1 Battery Contacts, 2 for the Single Battery, 4 for the Dual battery.
- 14AWG Wire in Red and Black to connect the Positives and Negatives on the Dual Battery Tray,
- 16AWG Wire in Red and Black for the Battery Contacts, 510, and connections to the Clickfet.
- 24AWG Wire for the Switch, and LED if you choose to use an LED Switch
- Heatshrink, to protect solder joints if needed, can also be used to encase the Clickfet to shield it from any eliquid.
- Rosin Core Solder, will make Tinning wires much easier
- Soldering Station
- Tube of Flux Paste, this will make soldering to the 510 and Battery Contacts much easier
- The CB-FET Body, Battery Tray, Midplate (Dual Battery ver.) and Battery Door
